Bathroom Remodels

Bathrooms are the hardest room in the house to remodel well because everything in them has to handle water, and the parts that matter most are the parts you never see. Waterproofing behind tile, proper slope to the drain, and correctly sealed penetrations are what determine whether a bathroom holds up for twenty years or starts causing problems in three.

Shower and tub surrounds are where most failures happen. Tile set over a substrate that isn't waterproofed will look fine for years while water moves through the grout and into the framing behind it. By the time it shows up as a soft spot in the floor or a stain on the ceiling below, the repair is far bigger than the original job would have been.

Ventilation is the other thing that gets underbuilt. A bathroom without adequate exhaust traps moisture in the room, and that moisture ends up in the drywall, the paint, and eventually the framing. It's an inexpensive thing to get right during a remodel and an expensive thing to correct later.

The visible finishes are what you'll enjoy every day, and we take those seriously too. But the work behind them is what makes it last.
